The mix only requires the addition of egg and water and will make up to an 8 inch round cake. If you are looking to make an egg-free cake, try substituting the egg for flax seed. Suitable for Vegetarians Recipe:For an 8 inch round cake. 500g Cake Mix100g Vegetable Oil175g Egg125g Water Method: Put the mix and vegetable oil in a bowl and mix for about 30 seconds on a slow speed until a smooth liquid paste is formed. Pour in the water and egg over 1 minute while mixing on a slow speed, scrape down the sides. Mix for 2 minutes on fast speed using a handheld electric mixer or for 4 minutes on medium speed using a tabletop mixer. Place the desired amount of mix into a greased or paper-lined tin. Bake in a domestic fan oven at 130C. For the 8" round cake above, bake for 1 hour 30 minutes. Test with a cake skewer. If the skewer comes out clean, then the cake is usually baked. Individual ovens vary. Adjust bake profile as required for the oven or for the cake size and weight you require. We recommend you allow the cake to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack. Once it is cooled, wrap it and store it in a cool dry place.
