Product Description

A lighter style of rosé showcasing aromas of candied pear and mango with underlying secondary notes of brioche and honeycomb. The focused palate delivers stone fruit flavours while a full-bodied mouthfeel lingers on the palate carrying a juicy acidity.Marisco Vineyards takes its name from proprietor Brent Marris' notorious ancestors; the de Mariscos, who in the 12th and 13th centuries inhabited Lundy Island, off England's south-west coast. The Kings Series wines were created to celebrate the scandalous stories of those ancestors...King Henry the First is said to have fathered some 35 illegitimate children, one of whom was apparently William de Marisco. Many assume this is the reason the de Marisco family had ties to the Royal Court thereafter - all as a directed result of the King's Desire. The de Mariscos continued a rocky relationship with the monarchy in subsequent generations, ultimately ending with the tragic execution of a later William for piracy and his alleged involvement in a treasonous plot.Wine of Marlborough, New Zealand
